The cartridge screws right onto the electronic cigarette battery and when the smoker gives it a puff, the battery sends an electrical charge to the atomizer which then vaporizes the liquid nicotine and turns it into nicotine water vapor. The smoker will then inhale nicotine water vapor rather than deadly tobacco smoke. No tobacco smoke equals no smell, no chemicals, and best of all no cancer.
