What is the better e cig model between the Janty eGO or the Totally Wicked Tornado?

by Author on August 20, 2010

I have done research now looking into the Janty eGo and the Totally Wicked Tornado – they seem similar, is one better than the other? Which one would I be better off to buy?

Both the Janty eGo and the Totally Wicked Tornado are the exact same electronic cigarette / personal vaporizer, just with different branding.

It is manufactured by a very highly regarded company Joyetech which has made a line of the more popular ‘e cigarette’ models including the Joye Tech 510 (sold as various names, like the 510 Titan, TECC Titan, Janty Dura, etc). The eGo and Tornado are in many ways an upgrade to the 510, and from over a month or so of personal use I can solidly say it is a huge improvement over the 510, not just the battery life.

One cool thing is that the Tornado / eGO are ‘backwards compatible’ with 510 atomizers, carts, etc. But producer better vapor and MUCH longer battery life.

And in my opinion either model represents the best refillable (battery, atomizer and cartridge based, aka 3-piece) personal vaporizer on the market today. And one of the best of any type period.

You can see why more in depth here if you want:

But I’ll cover most of it here for you:

To answer your question though, my recommendation is you go with the Totally Wicked Tornado – and here is why:

The Totally Wicked Tornado is going to cost you less, the retail prices are a bit less at Totally Wicked already, but you can use the coupon code D29A5 and get an additional 7.5% off. That is for the totally wicked usa site, go to

http://www.totallywickedstuff.com/

(for the UK Totally Wicked Site, the Coupon Code 5E746 will get the same 7.5% off for everything)

So for the battery for instance, which is the main component of the ego / Tornado really – Janty sells them for $24.99 while Totally Wicked sells them for $22.99 (or 79.99 for a 5 pack)

So add that to the savings with the totally wicked coupon code D29A5 means it is only going to cost roughly $21.25 or with the 5 pack and the coupon code applied you are going to pay ONLY $14.80 per battery, that’s a pretty great price for the quality of these batteries, which are excellent units.

In honest I first bought the eGO but it was because Totally Wicked was all out of stock (there were only 2 batteries left at Janty and I wanted them so much I just paid more to get them) – but as they are identical units I now buy from Totally Wicked the other stuff to go along with it and it is compatible completely.

Plus Totally wicked has things like the Mega atomizers and Mega 510 TITAN atomizers which work great with the eGo/Tornado. They also have developed a customized adaptor that lets you charge the Tornado battery off any 510 Titan (or any of the other names it goes by from other places) charger, so for people who have already things like the 510 Titan 5 Battery Mega Charger this is great.

But I do highly recommend the Tornado Mega Powered USB charger which offers WAY faster charging (90 minutes versus 4 hours) especially as a first time buyer.

The starter kits of the eGo and Totally Wicked Tornado also break down in favour of the Tornado. Again mostly due to the cost savings.

Both are 79.99, come with 2 batteries, 1 ‘cone’ cover, 1 battery charger – BUT the Tornado comes with 2 Atomizers and eGo only 1, Tornado comes with 10 cartridges instead of 5 (just those two elements are around a $20 value difference) plus the Tornado kits comes included with the 510 (titan) to Tornado Adaptor I explained above.

So it is already a pretty significantly better value, but again off course you can use Totally Wicked Coupon D29A5 and save more, and only pay $73.99 for the Tornado starter kit.

Lastly, I checked Janty to confirm I was still correct here in what I am saying and noticed they don’t have stock on ANY of the eGO kits, which seems to be a problem with them more often while Totally Wicked seem to keep better stock levels available in the USA and have something like 450 in stock for fast delivery in the us or international.

Hope all this info helps, I am a big advocate for both electronic cigarettes and also the joye tech line of vaporizers. I’ve bought and used just about everything on the market and have done my homework so to speak in additional to more than plenty of personal use : )

So I have a pretty solid amount of knowledge on the subject by now and I am happy to share. I want to see these devices, electronic cigarettes, e-cigs, personal vaporizers, electronic nicotine inhalators, whatever you like to call them – not get halted by governments as I know from my own experience how much they have helped me.

I stopped smoking over a year and a half ago after a 15 year heavy tobacco addiction with e cigs and have never looked back. I know they can’t claim health advantages until more studies are done, but common sense would say there are lots.
